Ground
The responsibility of SMC at Sir Seretse Khama falls to the dedicated Ground ATS unit, "Khama Ground" (FBSK_GND) on 121.950 MHz. SMC will be responisble for the aerodrome movements outside of the runway, including pushback and taxi to/from the runway. SMC will also be responsible for the intial call of VFR aircraft looking for start and taxi to the runway.
Visual Flight Rules (VFR) Aircraft
On intial call with SMC, the VFR aircraft is expected to provide:
- Aircraft Registraition, if the callsign used is not the registration
- Aircraft Type
- Persons on Board
- Fuel Endurance
- Intentions
Once this data has been received by the SMC controller, the controller shall then issue the QNH, Active Runway, and if operating on a FPL, as discrete squawk code.
VFR Phraseology
"ZSCPT, start up approved, Runway XX in use, QNH (QNH), report ready for taxi."
Restrictions
Sir Seretse Khama is able to accomodate up to Code E aircraft.

An aircraft must be squawking their assigned ASSR code provided in their clearence before pushback clearence is issued. If this is not the case, the SMC controller must instruct the pilot to do so BEFORE any push clearence is issued.

Taxi procedures
Taxi Procedure
By default, all aircraft should be taxiied to full length unless otherwise requested by the pilot.
When runway 08 is active, departing traffic shall be instructed to taxi to the runway via A and hold short of runway 08. Intersection Depratures from D are possible (No intersection data available).
When runway 26 is active, departing traffic shall be instructed to taxi to the runway via B and hold short of runway 26. Intersection Depratures from G or H are possible (No intersection data available).
